Summer is the perfect season to wander a path less travelled
What better time of the year to put on your hiking boots and adventure into the remarkable Onkaparinga River National Park than right now. Located in the heart of the McLaren Vale region, this gorgeous park offers something for everyone: from bush walking to cliff tops, rock climbing and kayaking along the river.
The Onkaparinga River National Park is our own hidden gem in the region, where you can immerse yourself in nature and be surrounded by local wildlife. Discover the many different areas of the park by trekking between prominent cliffs alongside the river, or hiking to the highest peaks for spectacular views of the Onkaparinga Gorge. No matter how many times you visit the park, you will always find a new path to explore with lots of walking trails to choose from.
If you’re feeling adventurous, Earth Adventure offer fantastic half-day rock climbing and abseiling tours for everyone (no climbing experience required). Put your skills to the test and climb cliffs up to 30 meters high in the designated cliff area. You will be rewarded by the views of the gorges from the top that will only leave you wanting more… and of course, safety first! You will be looked after by your coaches at all times.
Besides bushwalking and rock climbing, there are so many other ways to explore the park. Next time you visit, you can choose from horse riding, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking and canoeing, bird watching, as well as camping, what more can you ask for. Discover more here.
