As we are now heading into the Summer season, The Salopian Inn is looking for an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as a Casual Waiter.

If you have had experience and enjoy working in a busy restaurant, if you are passionate about service and fresh local ingredients, if you have a keen interest in local and international wines and gins, and if you are organized, methodical, hardworking and ready for new challenges, then we are looking for you.

The job will be around 30 hours per week & weekend availability is a must.

We are currently seeking an experienced Kitchen Hand / Dishy with a professional manner, and a positive attitude.

Key duties will include:

  • Maintain cleanliness of all food service areas
  • Ensure counter areas are well presented and refreshed at all times
  • Washing and polishing dishes and glasses

Desired Experience :

  • Previous Kitchen Hand experience
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills
  • Impeccable presentation and grooming
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety, and Hygiene
  • High level of flexibility
  • Ability to work hard and take direction

Yangarra Estate Vineyard is a boutique McLaren Vale winery, situated 35 minutes south of Adelaide. Our intimate tasting room is set on our beautiful single vineyard estate amongst the vines. Yangarra is a reputable wine brand, specialising in premium Rhone varietal wines.

An exciting and rare opportunity for Cellar Door & Hospitality Supervisor has evolved due to internal promotion. Ideally suited to an ambitious candidate with the opportunity to own their own space. The right cultural fit is critical, you will be part of a highly supportive team and work with amazing staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of our boutique cellar door
  • Hosting personalised cellar door tastings, winery tours and sales
  • Direct to consumer wine sales, stock management and logistics
  • Cellar door event implementation and execution
  • Organise and participate in consumer events, functions and tastings
  • Flexibility and ability to work 5 days, including some public holidays and weekend work

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

The candidate must have the following attributes:

  • Warm and hospitable personality
  • A passion for the wine industry, and a good understanding of wines
  • A strong work ethic, self discipline, communication skills and understands accountability
  • Hospitality experience highly desirable
  • Excellent records management and general office administration

Cellar Hand

Suit energetic, enthusiastic and personable individual. This is a busy hands-on role requiring an eye for detail and a professional manner.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, meticulously well organised, forward thinking, have excellent communication skills with a strong focus on quality and meeting deadlines.  A demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a team environment and excellent attention to detail.

Main duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Demonstrated competency in:

  • Tanker Unloading
  • Winery sanitation and cleaning
  • Wine racking/ transfers wine movements
  • Common winery additions (fining agents, acids, SO2 etc)
  • Barrel work and cellar operations
  • Solution preparation and maintenance

A bonus would be experience as a Laboratory Technician support role

Performing basic Wine analysis i.e., pH, TA

  • FSO2, TSO2
  • FOSS analysis
  • Dissolved O2 and CO2
  • Record keeping

We are looking for someone who has / is:

  • An Australian forklift license with high competency
  • The ability to work extended hours
  • The ability to work in small teams
  • Able to work under tight deadlines
  • A high awareness of workplace WHS issues and practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good level of physical fitness
    • MUST be a team player and can also work independently
    • Right attitude to adapt and learn
    • Responsible and reliable
    • Good written and spoken English
  • Applicants must have Australian citizenship/residency or a valid Australian work permit, as well as a valid driver’s license
  • Positive 'can do' attitude and strong work ethic

The hours for this position are day shift, Monday to Friday in McLaren Vale

WILLUNGA FARMERS MARKET - CASUAL POSITION

The Willunga Farmers Market (WFM) is a not-for-profit incorporated association.  WFM Inc runs the successful weekly farmers market in the historic town of Willunga every Saturday morning.  The market supports the production and sale of fresh, local and seasonal produce largely from the Fleurieu Peninsula.  The market is a membership-based organisation and is governed by an elected Management Board who employ staff to carry out the functions and operations of the market. 

WFM has an opportunity for a casual position in the operations of the Willunga Farmers Market.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide operational support for the Operations Manager on market day as tasked including physical setup and take down of the market. 
     
  • To work in collaboration with market day Volunteers in the running of Information Stall.
     
  • Carry out work in a friendly and professional manner with Stall Holders, Shoppers and WFM staff and volunteers at all times.

Hours: The hours of work will be based on a monthly roster system and hours will vary but will be more or less 16 hours per month

Location: Willunga Farmers Market, Town Square Willunga

Position would ideally suit a local hardworking community minded person.

Our Client, Patritti Wines, is a South Australian family owned business established in 1926 and operates a five star urban winery in Adelaide’s southern suburbs.

In leading a small team you will have responsibility for accounting, finance, HR and ICT requirements and will present monthly financial management reports to the Board.

Key skills and requirements include:

  • CPA / CA Qualification
  • Wine industry experience preferred
  • IT skills including familiarity with MS Office, Xero, Vintrace and Vend are preferred
