We are currently seeking an experienced Kitchen Hand / Dishy with a professional manner, and a positive attitude.

Key duties will include:

  • Maintain cleanliness of all food service areas
  • Ensure counter areas are well presented and refreshed at all times
  • Washing and polishing dishes and glasses

Desired Experience :

  • Previous Kitchen Hand experience
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills

Beresford Estate Wines produce our premium McLaren Vale red, white, sparkling, fortified and rose wines at The Step Road winery in Langhorne Creek. We are currently looking for 2019 Vintage Cellar Hands starting late February and proceeding through to May or sometimes later. The opportunity exists for people based on the Fleurieu Peninsula to be a part of McLaren Vale winemaking and vintage operations, at the 2,000T Langhorne Creek winery.

You will have the opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of wine production methods as part of a small team,  from bulk processing in 15-30 tonne roto fermenters and 10 tonne static open fermenters, to smaller premium 2 tonne and 5 tonne open fermenters for our small batch Blewitt Springs Estate fruit, spirit fortification for fortified wine base, sparkling wine base production, and more.

Daily tasks may include:

  • Crusher operation
  • Wine, juice and must transfers
  • Drain and returns
  • Winery and tank cleaning and sanitation
  • Yeast propagation and inoculation
  • Open fermenter management
  • Pump overs
  • Tank additions
  • Wine analysis
  • Barrel work

Along with various other tasks as required. A Confined Space certificate will be offered for most new employees in late February (at no cost).

We offer good exposure to many wine production methods, styles and products . Vintage commences with brief induction in late February 2019 and ends around May,  with ongoing work possible for the right candidates and flexibility for Waite campus students returning to study earlier. All cellar hands are expected to be available for day and afternoon shift work plus weekend day shifts during vintage. All penalty rates will apply.

The Step Rd. Winery. Davidson Road, Langhorne Creek.

Coast & Co is a new tourism venture on the Fleurieu that mixes 4WD, hiking, luxury accommodation and e-biking, in a mission to help visitors discover the soul of the region.

Partnering with Primo Estate, we are just about to launch 8 spectacular new electric mountain bikes, giving visitors to the region an easy way to cruise along the Shiraz Trail and visit Cellar Doors in style. Coast & Co is looking for a casual to manage the E-Bike operation around 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to grow. Responsibilities include preparing bikes for hire and tours, briefing and training customers on the e-bikes, taking customers on guided tours of the Shiraz Trail, plus setting up and down at the end of each day. Role will require someone with an interest in wine and tourism, knowledge of and ability to engage people in the region, plus a good level of outdoor fitness. An understanding of social media and ability to promote the tours will also be advantageous. Will suit someone with cellar door, hospitality and/ or tourism experience. Role has potential to grow.

Job Description

We are looking for that special someone who will work front of house in our Distillery Door.   If you are energetic, somewhat experienced, know a bit about craft spirits, like talking with customers and prepared to work as part of a team who chip in to get the job done, you’re going to feel at home.  You must be capable of serving multiple people at the same time and large groups when necessary.  Other jobs will include prep work for group tastings, restocking.  We wouldn’t say no to someone with bar and cocktail experience, in fact we would love it!

You must have a current RSA Certificate.

This is a casual position working on Saturday and Sunday 11.00 – 5.00 p.m. with the potential for more shifts as we grow and if it works well for both of us.

We are seeking an experienced and energetic hands on Events and Hospitality Manager that has a passion for hospitality, wine, great food and exceptional customer service.   You will be a talented and dynamic professional with a strong background in the management of functions with the aim to deliver an unforgettable experience that exceeds customer expectations.  

At a high level, job tasks and responsibilities include –

  • Planning of events from start to finish, from the first initial email to the conclusion of the event  ensuring that all projects are running on time and budget;
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining promotional activities and relationships with key stakeholders, including tour groups, corporate clients and suppliers;
  • Planning, directing, controlling and coordinating restaurant staff to approved quality standards, manage the ongoing review of food and beverage products and strategy to improve these operations and, in turn, financial performance;
  • Be able to oversee staff rosters, handle stock control and manage labour costs in line with the agreed wage matrix;
  • Provide strong hands on leadership and management in the areas of all Food & Beverage related matters whilst maintaining the quality standards as determined by management;
  • Consistently and continuously communicate to management providing accurate feedback on performance and any other operational activities; carry out the operational plan, procedures and policies and maintain the effective day to day running of operations;

Skills and experience

  • Highly motivated; positive attitude and a willingness to show initiative;
  • Good communication skills and have the ability to liaise and negotiate with staff; customers and suppliers;
  • Sound management, organisational and administrative skills;
  • Have a creative eye and work with the team to make sure all functions are executed to the standards of our venue;
  • Proven experience managing a Restaurant to a high standard, including leading the development and implementation of strategies to achieve sales and labour cost budgets and targets;
  • You will have a proven track record in successfully managing, motivating and developing a small team
