Are you an experienced Chef looking for a sea change away from the crazy work hours and stress of running your own business? This could be the gig for you. Historic McLaren Vale winery Wirra Wirra is looking for an experienced Chef to manage our popular café, Harry’s Deli.

Harry’s Deli is a small café that has won the hearts of locals and visitors alike with fresh meals showcasing local producers; exceptional platters and killer coffee.

We operate from 10am to 4pm every day of the year except Good Friday and Christmas Day.

As Chef/Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Staff - recruiting; training and rosters
  • Menu - creating; sourcing; prepping and training
  • Customers - jumping behind the register or pulling a coffee when it gets a little crazy
  • Suppliers – sourcing; ordering; managing relationships
  • Safety - training and maintaining safety procedures of kitchen operations

You will be required to work 4 days during the week and one day on the weekend and have the support of Wirra Wirra’s internal Marketing, Finance and Admin teams to handle all the stuff that currently keeps you up at night.

Ryecroft Wines, Established in 1888, has a number of open casual positions for vintage 2020 in cellar and laboratory roles. We are looking for hard working people who love working vintage, making a range of wines from super premium to commercial.

Positions will commence at the start of February for a period of 8 > 12 weeks, dependent upon vintage conditions, working up to 12 hr shifts 6 days per week.

The winery is located centrally in the beautiful McLaren Vale region renowned for world class Shiraz, Grenache & Cabernet Sauvignon with beautiful beaches and the city of Adelaide in close proximity to the winery.

Ryecroft is part of the Randall Wine Group and together with Tinlins & Seppeltsfield, focus on premium wines for the Australian and World markets.


A strong work ethic and a willingness to get stuck in is required, you will have had previous winery experience during vintage. The ability to work in a safety focused environment as a team member in a diverse cellar crew made up of local and international team members is a must. It is essential you can follow instructions both verbally and written and, as the winery works 24 hrs / 7 days during the harvest period, have a good degree of physical fitness and a willingness to work shift work if required.

A forklift license is highly desirable and a dedicated training program for Ryecroft will be provided at the start of vintage.
