Yangarra Estate Vineyard is a highly awarded winery and cellar door in McLaren Vale. Our cellar door provides our customers and guests with an extremely informative and personalised tasting experience.  

Reporting to the Cellar Door Supervisor, this position is suited to someone with a genuine passion for hospitality and wine. A high level of hospitality experience would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Hosting personalised Cellar Door tastings and Winery tours
  • Co-ordinate the packing and shipping of Cellar Door and Online orders
  • Packing and shipping of samples both domestically and internationally
  • Day to day operations including cash management, restocking and stock control whilst maintaining our Cellar Door presentation standards.
  • Assist with Cellar Door events and Consumer functions
  • Flexibility and the ability to work 5 days, including weekends and public holidays
  • Continually develop your knowledge and history of our brand, region and wines in general.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

Gemtree Wines, growers and makers of biodynamic wines located in McLaren Vale, are looking for an experienced tractor operator to join our team.  This is a rare opportunity to join the Gemtree family as a Vineyard Operator on a full-time basis.  This role is diverse including all tractor operations from spraying to machine harvesting to on-ground vineyard work.  For a full description of the role please refer to the Position Description below.  If you meet the criteria then email your resume and a short cover letter to by Monday 28th October. POSITION:          Vineyard Operator - Grade 3

Nature & Scope:

  • This position reports directly to the Vineyard Manager and requires attention to detail, effective and thorough communication and the ability to carry out tasks to high standards as directed.  The nature of the position is to assist the Vineyard Manager in operating and maintaining the vineyard within budgetary guidelines.

Accountability Objective:

  • To efficiently follow instructions from the Supervisors / Managers
  • To achieve vineyard production goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively and conscientiously to directions from the Supervisors / Managers in all vineyard operation duties including-
    • tractor operations (discing, slashing, pick-up operation, cover cropping, post knocking, etc.),
    • irrigation repairs & maintenance,
    • pruning,
    • vine planting and vine training,
    • trellis repairs and foliage wire lifting,
    • technical duties as required,
    • canopy management,
    • property and vineyard maintenance,
    • reporting to managers of any maintenance and repairs required in vineyard,
  • Report any quality, crop or machinery defects promptly to Supervisors / Managers;
  • Follow and maintain Occupational Health and Safety regulations and procedures;
  • Follow procedures and processes as outlined in the Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s).

Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to:

  • Work effectively without direct supervision to efficiently complete tasks;
  • Be a team member and contribute as necessary to ensure quality and business objectives are gained;
  • Identify and inform Supervisors / Managers of any new and better operations or processes to improve crop development;
  • Competently work with a variety of vineyard equipment;
  • Comply with Work Health and Safety, and Quality Assurance requirements;
  • Be flexible to changing conditions.


  • A current drivers license and own transport;
  • Relevant farm machinery operators license;
  • Extensive ‘hands on’ vineyard experience;
  • High standards of work practices and treatment of others;
  • Attention to detail and safe and tidy work practices;
  • Fitness level and aptitude to work in a changing outdoor environment;
  • Basic numeric and literacy skills (in a major language)
  • An understanding and commitment to ISO 9002 Quality Assurance System and HACCP food safety.

Nature and Scope

This position reports directly to the Financial Controller. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide administrative support to the sales and marketing function and the wine club. The successful applicant will have impeccable attention to detail, be a highly motivated team player and share our passion for organic farming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the processing and invoicing of domestic and direct customer orders which includes wholesalers, distributors, web-site and telephone sales and wine club sales
  • Assist with the processing and invoicing of export orders
  • Assist with staff wine allowance which involves collating orders, distribution and invoicing
  • Assist with the co-ordination of wine show entries Assist with the running of events
  • Assist the wine club as required, primarily in dealing with customer queries Record keeping of sample/tastingstock taken from the winery for wine shows, contra deals, gifts etc.
  • Assist with the processing, data entry and invoicing of Tasting and Promotion stock
  • Assist with the monthly stock take and reconciliation of bottled wine held at the winery
  • Ordering stationery and office supplies
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally, screen calls and take messages Filter and respond to general enquiries through the info line
  • Booking offlights
  • Ad hoc administration tasks as required

Ryecroft Wines, Established in 1888, has a number of open casual positions for vintage 2020 in cellar and laboratory roles. We are looking for hard working people who love working vintage, making a range of wines from super premium to commercial.

Positions will commence at the start of February for a period of 8 > 12 weeks, dependent upon vintage conditions, working up to 12 hr shifts 6 days per week.

The winery is located centrally in the beautiful McLaren Vale region renowned for world class Shiraz, Grenache & Cabernet Sauvignon with beautiful beaches and the city of Adelaide in close proximity to the winery.

Ryecroft is part of the Randall Wine Group and together with Tinlins & Seppeltsfield, focus on premium wines for the Australian and World markets.


A strong work ethic and a willingness to get stuck in is required, you will have had previous winery experience during vintage. The ability to work in a safety focused environment as a team member in a diverse cellar crew made up of local and international team members is a must. It is essential you can follow instructions both verbally and written and, as the winery works 24 hrs / 7 days during the harvest period, have a good degree of physical fitness and a willingness to work shift work if required.

A forklift license is highly desirable and a dedicated training program for Ryecroft will be provided at the start of vintage.
