The Currant Shed restaurant, set between a delightful lime grove and beautiful vineyards in South Australia’s McLaren Flat, has withstood over a century of mixed guises. Originally built as an undercover shelter in which to prepare and dry currants, the shed now housing the restaurant was reputedly the largest of its kind in the district. With its inherent charm, long history and stunning views, another chapter is now being written.
Today, The Currant Shed is full of enthusiastic individuals that are determined to see ‘The Shed’, as it is fondly referred to by locals, become one of the preeminent restaurants in the Fleurieu region.
Located within the world-renowned McLaren Vale wine region at 104 Ingoldby Road, McLaren Flat South Australia, The Currant Shed is open for lunch 6 days a week, from 11:30am, and is closed Wednesdays.
The McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association acknowledges the Kaurna people as the Traditional Owners of the Country where the McLaren Vale Region is situated today, and pays its respect to Elders past and present.
