Jim Zerella is carrying on a family tradition started by his Nonni in Campania, Southern Italy, in 1926. We like to think we have brought a little bit of Italy to McLaren Vale with our Nero d’Avola, Arneis, Sangiovese, Barbera and Fiano which sit alongside our Mataro Shiraz and
Grenache Mataro Shraz.
Jim's late father could often be heard to say "you can make bad wine from good grapes but you can’t make good wine from bad grapes", emphasising the importance of quality fruit. The grapes that make up all of our wines come from vineyards especially chosen for their combination of soil characteristics and regional microclimate producing fruit of the highest quality.
We look forward to welcoming you to our newly built cellar door situated in one of our flagship vineyards in the near future. In the meantime please phone the office to book a private tasting and/or vineyard tour.
The McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association acknowledges the Kaurna people as the Traditional Owners of the Country where the McLaren Vale Region is situated today, and pays its respect to Elders past and present.
