Bent Creek Vineyards
In 1995, the Polson family was holidaying at Port Willunga, and when Peter nicked off for milk at near by McLaren Vale he came back the proud owner of a vineyard.
Originally attracted by the prominent corner location of the property, Peter was delighted to discover the vineyard's 52-year-old dry-grown plantings that were under utilised by the previous owner. Peter decided to fulfil a life-long dream and became a full-time vigneron, and naming the enterprise Bent Creek, he set about handcrafting distinct and unique wines for the enjoyment of his family and friends. Since then Bent Creek has opened a McLaren Flat cellar door facility and has earned a reputation for producing some of the finest estate grown wines in the district. The fruit is derived from the old dry-grown vines situated on the banks of the creek running along the property's boundary. The wines are exceptional and both reds and whites have been well received by a growing number of wine collectors and leading restaurants throughout the state and eastern Australia.
